The Jeep Wrangler is not the sensible choice, and that is exactly why people around here buy one. It is the hunting rig that gets down a cattail-slough two-track in October, the lake rig that backs the boat in at Oahe, and the vehicle that plows its own way down a drifted township road in January when the car stays home. Solid axles, a real transfer case with low range, and a top and doors that come off for July: the hardware is visible, and it works.
At Beadle's Chrysler Center in Bowdle, we stock the four-door Wrangler and can order the two-door or any trim from Sport through Rubicon exactly the way you want it, alongside pre-owned Wranglers as they come through the Beadle Auto Group lots. Buy it here and it gets serviced here, too, so you are not driving to a metro dealer for an oil change or a warranty visit.
Not sure whether you want two doors or four, the V6 or the turbo, a Willys or a Rubicon, or whether a soft top can survive a South Dakota winter? The year-by-year overviews and buyer guides below answer all of it in plain terms.

Jeep Wrangler — Common Questions
Is the Jeep Wrangler any good in a South Dakota winter?
Yes, with the right setup. Every Wrangler has a true part-time or full-time 4x4 system with low range, and the ground clearance to get over a drifted section line. The honest caveats are the soft top (a hardtop is the smart winter choice) and tires, so we walk through both. Read the full winter guide.
Should I buy a two-door or a four-door Wrangler?
Most buyers around here end up in the four-door: it has a real back seat, far more cargo room for dogs and gear, and a higher tow rating. The two-door is lighter, shorter, and more nimble, and we can order one any time. Compare the two bodies.
What is the difference between a Sport, a Willys, a Sahara, and a Rubicon?
Mostly hardware. The Sport is the honest base Wrangler; the Willys adds all-terrain tires and a locking rear differential; the Sahara is the comfortable one with a body-color hardtop and a full-time 4x4 system; the Rubicon adds the 4:1 Rock-Trac transfer case, front and rear lockers, a disconnecting sway bar, and 33-inch tires. See the trim-by-trim breakdown.
How much can a Wrangler tow?
Properly equipped, the four-door Wrangler tows up to 3,500 pounds and the two-door up to 2,000 pounds. That covers most aluminum fishing boats, a small enclosed trailer, or a utility trailer, but anything bigger is a job for a Ram. Read the towing guide.
Wrangler or Bronco?
We sell both under the Beadle name, so we will give you the straight answer: the Wrangler keeps solid axles, a true low-range transfer case, front and rear lockers on the Rubicon, a manual transmission, and doors and a windshield that come off; the Bronco trades some of that for a quieter highway ride. Read the honest comparison.
